Recent changes at the federal level allow Online Learning Institutions to accept Federal financial aid in payment of tuition -- and in so doing, they accept added responsibilities for assuring access to students with disabilities! Many proprietary institutions have those same obligations as a consequence of the federal financial aid used in payment of tuition by students in pursuit of their career goals.

Disability Compliance in Career and Online Learning (DCCOL) was established to provide support to such institutions as they prepare to meet the challenge of access for all. Our goal is to provide guidance and direction for career colleges and online learning institutions, and to assist them in developing the necessary framework and student services needed to assure compliance as mandated by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Subscribing to DCCOL will allow for career colleges and online learning institutions to outsource their disability compliance responsibilities, to be sure that their obligations are met in a timely and efficient manner by individuals experienced in providing accommodations for students with disabilities in higher education.

Institutional Subscribers to DCCOL will have access to a menu of support/services that they can contract to provide the level of coverage necessary and appropriate to their situation. From assessment of institutional vulnerability in compliance, to the provision of direct service to students with disabilities enrolled in classes, to the training of in-house personnel to assume these responsibilities, DCCOL can provide subscribers with a full range of services on demand.

DCCOL's Accommodations Corps includes working professionals from the field of disability access and compliance in postsecondary education, strategically located throughout the United States. With a combined 300+ years total experience in disability compliance, our Corps will be able to assist you in all your compliance and access concerns, ensuring your institution is meeting its legal responsibilities for compliance while still maintaining the academic integrity of your program.
