Jane E. Jarrow, Ph.D., spent 14 years as the Executive Director of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), before becoming a private consultant in the field of disability and higher education in 1996. In her role with her private consulting business, Disability Access Information and Support (DAIS), Jane provides advice and counsel to disability service providers and postsecondary institutions, performs program reviews, reviews policy, provides online inservice training, and is a prolific author and speaker in this field. .

More recently, Jane has assumed the mantle of President of Disability Compliance in Career and Online Learning. This organization is unique in the field of higher education, providing consulting and direct services to online institutions and programs, as well as proprietary career schools, in meeting their legal obligations to students with disabilities. Jane is a sought-after speaker (and one of the ONLY speakers available!) on the practical aspects of accommodating students with disabilities in the virtual world and has become a voice for change in the career/proprietary milieu.  In addition to presentations fon these topics for Sloan-C, the Career College Association, and the Association on Higher Education and Disability, Jane has become a recognized authority in this emerging area, having recently taught a webinar for Sloan-C, and written articles for several prominent higher education publications.

As the parent of a teenager with a disability (who will be attending college in the Fall, 2009!), Jane is highly conversant with the laws governing the K-12 system, as well. She continues to serve as the primary consultant for disability policy for the Council for Opportunity in Education, and writes regularly for the 504/ADA Compliance Handbooks
